Your donations can help CHEO Bear fill his holiday shopping list for the children and youth at CHEO and Roger Neilson House

CHEO Bear loves the holidays and he wants to make sure that all children and youth continue to get the best care, treatment and love during their time at CHEO and Roger Neilson House  over the holidays and throughout the year.

CHEO Bear has a very special list of things the children, youth and families need, and by donating to CHEO Bear’s Holiday Shopping List, you will truly make a difference.

To protect our patients and respect infection prevention guidelines, only NEW, UNUSED UNWRAPPED items in ORIGINAL packaging will be accepted. Please also ensure that your donation DOES NOT CONTAIN LATEX.  We cannot accept any gently used or previously owned items. We also do not accept personal notes and handmade crafts.

Christmas themed items for hospital units: Table top tree with decorations and lights, string of lights for windows, window stickers, tinsel garland.

Arts and Crafts Supplies: Playdoh, modelling clay, construction paper, scrapbook paper, origami paper/books, craft felt, Velcro, plastic table cloths, post-it flags, water colour paper, acrylic paints, paint brushes, small canvasses (no wooden parts), pastels, markers, pencil crayons and crayons (no more than 8 packs), pencil cases, stickers, sticker letters, glitter, self-stick foamies, mason jars, wooden crafts, birdhouse and treasure boxes.

Personal Items:  Wet wipes, hairbrushes and toothbrushes, pyjama bottoms (with no strings), underwear (all sizes), newborn and infant clothing for babies up to 2 years old, T-shirts, footwear (all sizes, no strings, sandals and crocs are best), hats, mitts, warm fuzzy blankets, deodorant, personal size shampoo (No More Tangles is a favorite brand) and soaps, cotton socks and slippers (no slip/gripper for safety), hair elastics, nail polish, lip balms (for boys or girls).

Distraction Tools:  Movies, board books, I Spy books, fiction and non-fiction books for all ages (English, French and Arabic), journals, children’s and adult coloring books, board games (Connect 4, Candyland, Monopoly, Sorry, Blokus, Scrabble, Snakes and Ladders, Othello, Skipbo, Chess, Game of Life), puzzles for all ages, word search books, Sudoku, perrla beads, matchbox cars, trucks, planes, legos, blocks, barnyard animals, zoo animals, TY beanie boos, dolls, barbies, stress balls (no latex) and fidget spinners.

Other: Strollers, bottle warmers, baby rockers, baby swings and swing covers, mobiles, gardening equipment (seeds, little spade shovels, watering cans, knee pads, bamboo sticks), bean bag chairs, fun chairs, motivational posters (wall art), kids single bed sheets in fun patterns, Keurig coffee pods.

Physical Activities: Ice skates and cross country skis and poles

Electronics: LCD/LED projector, headphones (over the ear), timers, calculators, MP3 players, iPads, laptops speakers, USB keys, colour printer, mini speakers, personal radios, Xbox 360 and Xbox one games (E for everyone, Sports, Minecraft and Lego), Playstation 4 and E games, Xbox 360 wireless and wired controllers, portable DVD players, laptop

Gift Cards*:  CHEO gift cards for meals in the Rainbow Cafeteria and Oasis Café, gas, groceries, restaurants, movies or phone calls; HMV, Dollar Store, Giant Tiger, Walmart, Winners, Chapters, Indigo, Shoppers Drug Mart, Tim Hortons, Starbucks, Michaels, Toys R Us, Mrs. Tiggy Winkles, Staples, Costco. Bus tickets also come in very handy. *Denominations of $10, $20, $25 to $50 only please.

Donations can be dropped off at the CHEO Foundation, 415 Smyth Rd., Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  To set up an appointment, please email [email protected].
