8th annual Hair Donation Ottawa raises over $95,000

The CHEO Foundation would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all of the awe-inspiring Hair Donation Ottawa 2018 participants who braved the weather and turned out for the 8thannual event on Sunday, April 15, 2018. Thanks to your commitment and dedication, the day was a rousing success! So far, over $95,000 has been raised to support cancer research in part at CHEO – and funds continue to come in.

There are a lot of people to recognize including the hair donors and head shavers who made such a solid commitment to the cause and then went to their friends, family and networks to raise money. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the hairstylists who donated their time and talent to the event and ensured our participants walked away looking and feeling their best. We are grateful as well for the faculty and staff team at Algonquin College Salon, Spa & Boutique for providing the perfect venue to make this magic happen. We would also like to thank the corporate sponsors for their continued support. Kudos also needs to go to the many volunteers who spent their Saturday setting things up to go so smoothly on event day.

To Helene Hutchings and the organizers of Hair Donation Ottawa and all of the parties involved, we offer both congratulations on another successful event and humble thanks for all you do to fund cancer research in Ottawa that can have an impact both here at home and around the world.
