Organizing a golf tournament is a fun and engaging way to raise money in support of the many children and youth in our local community, who are being cared for by the programs and services at CHEO!

Some key strategies to keep in mind for everyone’s safety include:

• No cart sharing
• One group per hole
• Encourage golfers to wear masks when they are within less than 2 meters of each other
• Consider including a bottle of hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, a face mask, and a one-pager of COVID-19 etiquette in each player’s registration kit
• Have players complete a self-assessment symptoms screening questionnaire and temperature check before they arrive at the golf course
• Each player should have their own balls, tees, and set of clubs (the course should also sanitize rental clubs between users)

While traditional networking opportunities (such as a pre-golf breakfast or an after-golf cocktail reception/dinner) may not possible during the pandemic, there are many creative ways to facilitate networking, increase fundraising, and make memories in a safe capacity.
