Coro Vivo Ottawa and the Grand Choeur du Conservatoire de Musique de Gatineau are pleased to present Joseph Haydn’s masterpiece Missa in Angustiis or “Nelson Mass”, as it is widely known. Composed in 1798 when Haydn’s popularity as a composer was at its peak, this mass is one of the later pieces of Haydn’s liturgical music. We invite you to experience this major work and its fascinating past, written at a time of turmoil in European history. Considered one of Haydn’s greatest master works, this production involves more than 80 choristers, orchestra and soloists all under the direction of Antonio Llaca.
