The Fairmont Château Laurier Trees of Hope for CHEO is a magical event that helps kick-start the holiday season, while raising much-needed funds for CHEO. Companies and organizations participate by decorating Christmas trees which are displayed in the main spaces of the Fairmont Château Laurier hotel throughout the holiday season. We’ve adapted Trees of Hope to make it more accessible to the public by taking both the beautiful TREES and our amazing SILENT AUCTION online, so you can now take part from any location.
From November 29, 2021 to January 3, 2022 the halls of the historic Fairmont Château Laurier will once again hold a little extra sparkle. Once again, Trees of Hope has been re-imagined as a virtual event to adhere to social distancing regulations.
We are excited to share with you the various ways you can participate virtually in this holiday tradition:
Sponsor and Decorate a Tree:
Participate in a socially distanced tree decorating day in the Ballroom of the Fairmont Château Laurier. Tree sponsorship is a great team-building event with the opportunity for up to six team members to take part. Your one-of-a-kind tree will be placed in the public spaces of the hotel from November 29, 2021 – January 3, 2022. This year, there will be a fun interactive virtual tree tour, where the public is invited to vote on their favourite tree and make a donation to CHEO.
Online Auction
Take part in the online auction starting Monday, November 29 at 6 p.m. until Monday, December 13 at 8 p.m. It’s a great way to get your holiday shopping done!
Vote and donate
The People’s Choice Awards will be live and online this year from. There are two ways in which you can participate:
1) If you are an overnight guest or are dining at the hotel, you can see the trees in person. Please note, guests and visitors must wear a mask at all times while viewing the trees, as they are in the public spaces of the hotel.
2) A virtual tour will be available online starting December 1, 2021.

Deck your halls, win some holiday cheer and help the kids at CHEO. We want to see your holiday lights! Make a donation of $25 or more and send us a photo of your tree or holiday lights. You’ll be entered for a chance to win a $250 Fairmont Gift Card OR a Bose SoundLink Mini II Special Edition Speaker. The winner’s photo will be posted on the Trees of Hope website for all to see.Make it fun: get friends and family to enter as well, for a friendly, virtual and socially distant competition.
