RBC Foundation supports CHEO’s new Integrated Treatment Centre with a $1.2 million gift
September 15, 2025 (Ottawa, ON) – The CHEO Charity Classic presented by RBC at The Royal Ottawa Golf Club ended with a surprise.
RBC presented a cheque in support of Kids These Days—specifically to CHEO’s Net Zero Future. RBC Foundation has committed $1.2 million toward the development of CHEO’s new Integrated Treatment Centre, an energy-efficient and net zero–ready facility.

CHEO is among the few Canadian hospitals tracking its carbon emissions, cutting them by about 35% in five years with a goal of net zero by 2047. Its new LEED Silver-designed facility, built for future renewable energy use, is key to that plan.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated in this year’s CHEO Charity Classic presented by RBC,” said Steve Read, President and CEO, CHEO Foundation. “RBC continues to be enormously generous. This transformational gift to the Kids These Days campaign comes in a year when they are already sponsoring the RBC Race for the Kids, the CHEO Telethon, and today’s inaugural CHEO Charity Classic. On behalf of all the children, youth and families that will feel the impact of this gift, thank you.”
Over the next 10 years, CHEO will remodel, transform, and build to adapt to the growing and increasingly complex needs of children and youth. CHEO also has a strategic commitment to reduce to 50 percent the number of children waiting for services beyond what is clinically recommended. CHEO Foundation, with community support, will fundraise $220 million to transform pediatric care.
RBC’s continued support will help CHEO achieve strong energy performance and long-term sustainability while continuing vital care and research for children and youth.
“This gift from the RBC Foundation will help CHEO achieve their goal to become net-zero while supporting the build of their new integrated treatment centre,” says Devinder Gill, RBC’s Regional President for Ontario North and East. “This is an example of how RBC is helping support the transition to a net-zero economy which is at the heart of our purpose – helping clients thrive and communities prosper.”
