Who We Are

It all started with a vision to create a pediatric hospital in Ottawa so families wouldn’t need to travel long distances for care. This dream became a reality in 1974 when the CHEO Foundation opened its doors. Since then, the CHEO Foundation has grown into a world-class organization, standing as the funding body for CHEO, CHEO Research Institute, Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice and CHEO School. Through funding, the CHEO Foundation has pioneered advancements in child health, research and technologies. Its proactive support ensures that TEAM CHEO continues to deliver world-class care to children and youth locally and globally.
