CHEO: Born of Boldness, Bravery and Determination
In the 1960s, a determined group of mothers and grandmothers came together to advocate for a specialized pediatric hospital in the Eastern Ontario region. Their unwavering resolve, alongside the support of dedicated community leaders, ultimately convinced the Government of Ontario to establish a children’s hospital in Ottawa. As a result, CHEO opened its doors on May 17, 1974.
CHEO Foundation’s Kids These Days Capital Campaign – Building a Brighter Future
That same spirit of community and determination is alive and well today. A dedicated group of community and business leaders has stepped up to spearhead CHEO Foundation’s largest ever capital campaign, aiming to raise $220M in support of CHEO’s campus redevelopment plan.
