Another successful edition of CN Cycle for CHEO

The 19th annual CN Cycle for CHEO was a great success thanks to the incredible generosity of our community. This inspiring display of support for the children, youth, and families who count on CHEO for oncology care is both humbling and deeply appreciated. Together, participants, fundraisers and sponsors raised an outstanding total of $2,194,128, funds that will directly support vital care and groundbreaking research at CHEO.

This event featured cycling routes offering special access to some of the most beautiful roadways in Ottawa and Gatineau, walking routes along the picturesque Ottawa River, activities and entertainment for kids of all ages, and a joyous finale revealing the total raised – an announcement that never fails to spark a huge cheer from the crowd. This year also marked the return of the CN Century Ride, welcoming hundreds of participants on the route through Gatineau Park.

The top Individual Fundraiser was Maria Hill raising $47,170. Teams Carpe Diem and National Bank Financial were among the top fundraising teams, each raising $114,635 and $237,115 respectively. Funds raised through CN Cycle for CHEO will help support oncology care and research in our community and beyond, giving children and youth facing challenging treatments the best possible chance to live full, healthy lives.

The partnership between CN and CHEO Foundation is one that continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of oncology patients at CHEO and around the world. “We are very proud to have been a part of the CHEO journey. The CN Cycle for CHEO is an event that means so much to everyone at CN,” said Melissa Cotton, Head of Government Affairs Canada for CN.

The 2026 McDonald’s Dream Team representing all CHEO cancer patients included Silas, age 13; Aoife, age seven and Lucy, age five. The children and their families were so excited to participate in the event as ambassadors for children and youth fighting cancer. Their smiles gave an extra boost of energy to everyone taking part and served as a reminder of why this fundraising event is so crucial.

“There’s something truly special about the CN Cycle for CHEO,” said Steve Read, CHEO Foundation President and CEO. “Each year, this event brings our community together in a shared commitment to helping children and youth facing cancer. Thanks to our sponsors, our donors and everyone who showed up with heart and purpose, we’re helping to shape a brighter future for families affected by pediatric cancer. I’m deeply grateful to everyone who made this year such a meaningful and hopeful experience.”
