About the Role

We are building a part time Community Engagement Ambassador team to support CHEO Foundation fundraising and community engagement activities throughout the year. The Community Events Ambassadors are the on-site face of CHEO Foundation at events, store visits, and community activations. You will engage with the public, support volunteers, coordinate logistics, and ensure events run smoothly and safely. This role involves independent work, physical setup and teardown, public engagement, and variable hours, including evenings and weekends.

This is a hands-on role with variable hours that increase during peak event seasons.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Represent the CHEO Foundation on site at community events, activations and CHEO events
  • Engage with the public as a CHEO Foundation staff member, raise awareness for the CHEO Foundation and leave a lasting impression. Be the hype of the party!
  • Support on site event logistics including setup, activation, and teardown of materials and equipment
  • Serve as a visible and professional point of contact for volunteers, partners, vendors, and the public
  • Attend store visits on behalf of the CHEO Foundation to thank local corporate partners
  • Lead or support on site volunteers and staff as needed (some shifts are solo and some are larger teams)
  • Provide feedback or basic reporting following event shifts
  • Assist with administrative or preparation work between events

Qualifications

Required

  • Availability to work evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work variable hours, with increased availability during peak event seasons
  • Proven leadership or team coordination experience (event-related experience preferred)
  • Comfortable engaging with the public, clients, and event partners
  • Valid Ontario G driver’s license and access to a vehicle to transport materials and self (we cover milage and parking costs).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work long shifts standing or moving indoors or outdoors in all weather
  • Effective problem solving and communication skills

Desired

  • Bilingual – French and English (preferred)
  • Experience in events, hospitality, community engagement, retail, or other customer facing roles
  • Experience coordinating volunteers or supporting teams in live environments
