About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Development, the Development Officer, CMN/CCHF is responsible for advancing the mission of the CHEO Foundation by fostering strong relationships with donors and partners associated to Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) and Canada’s Children’s Hospital Foundations (CCHF). The Development Officer works with multiple partners to develop and advance their campaigns and relationships all to maximize the revenue potential for CMN, CCHF and the Foundation.

Primary Responsibilities

Relationship Management & Fundraising:

  • Work with CMN/CCHF partners throughout the donor cycle – building relationships and sharing ideas and best practices to develop campaigns resulting in revenue growth
  • Develop proposals and work plans for enhancing the relationship with CMN/CCHF sponsors and programs

Campaign Development & Strategy:

  • Collaborate with National CMN/CCHF staff, and provide input to Manager for decision-making
  • Ensure alignment and identify collaboration opportunities of CMN/CCHF activities with priorities for the Foundation

Reporting and Donor Stewardship:

  • Customize annual reports and presentations for each account
  • Provide mid-year and end-of-year overviews for each account
  • Identify issues relating to market dynamics and escalate, as necessary
  • Ensure appropriate donor recognition in accordance with Foundation guidelines

Security Operations & Compliance:

  • Work closely with other Foundation departments, particularly communications, in order to elevate the viability of the program
  • Work with corporate volunteer committees and event volunteers

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years related experience in fundraising, sponsorship, account management or corporate partnerships (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
  • Proven experience implementing successful fundraising programs
  • Strong planning and organization skills with ability to translate plans into action
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to make strong and compelling presentations
  • Admirable interpersonal skills – open, approachable, tactful and politically sensitive
  • Experience with donor and event management
  • Willing to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends, and travel, as required
  • A valid drivers license and access to a vehicle is required
  • Experience with Raisers Edge and Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word is an asset
  • Bilingualism (English/French) would be an asset
