About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Information Security Specialist to join our Shared Services team. This role will focus on securing our digital environment through effective onboarding processes, hardware lifecycle management, and the administration of Microsoft 365 Defender and identity protection tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a passion for cybersecurity, and a collaborative mindset.

Primary Responsibilities

Onboarding & Offboarding:

  • Implement secure onboarding and offboarding procedures for employees, ensuring proper access provisioning and deprovisioning.
  • Coordinate with HR and Shared Services team members to streamline identity lifecycle management.
  • Manage hardware inventory, ensuring appropriate levels and up-to-date hardware availability.

Hardware and Software Support:

  • Maintain security standards for endpoint devices including laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
  • Support hardware encryption, patching, and compliance with endpoint protection policies.
  • Ensure secure device configurations and timely remediation of vulnerabilities.
  • Troubleshoot hardware / software issues and manage internal IT Ticketing support.
  • Ensure all assigned devices are regularly updated, secure, and functioning at optimal performance by proactively monitoring system health and coordinating maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.

Microsoft 365 Defender & Identity:

  • Administer and monitor Microsoft 365 Defender, including Defender for Identity, Endpoint, and Office 365.
  • Investigate and respond to security alerts, incidents, and suspicious activities.
  • Configure and maintain identity protection policies, conditional access, and multifactorauthentication (MFA).
  • Conduct regular audits of Active Directory and Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) for hygiene and compliance.

Security Operations & Compliance:

  • Participate in vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts.
  • Maintain documentation of security controls, procedures, and incident response activities.
  • Assist in compliance initiatives such as Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, or NIST frameworks.
  • Implement secure onboarding and offboarding procedures for employees, ensuring proper access provisioning and deprovisioning.
  • Manage hardware inventory, ensuring appropriate levels and up-to-date hardware availability.
  • Maintain security standards for endpoint devices including laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalentexperience).
  • 2+ years of experience in information security or IT support roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 security tools, Active Directory, and endpointmanagement platforms (e.g., Intune).
  • Familiarity with SIEM tools, identity governance, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
