About the Role
Reporting to the VP, Strategy and Communications, the Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for the execution of social media content to enhance and support CHEO Foundation’s marketing and communications goals. This role involves creating impactful content, adapted for social media platforms and the intended audience. The coordinator will keep up with the news cycle and social media trends to identify opportunities for CHEO Foundation on a daily basis. The social media coordinator collaborates regularly with colleagues within CHEO Foundation as well as colleagues at CHEO and CHEO Research Institute to ensure successful delivery.

You are passionate about the power of storytelling and fascinated by the impact of social media in achieving this. You work extremely well with colleagues and put a lot of value in the power of teamwork. A multi-tasker at heart, you are organized and comfortable dealing with multiple topics at once, yet you believe in prioritizing and ensuring a cohesive and clear approach to communicating. For you, social media is about telling and engaging with stories in various forms and, as such, you love trying new things. You are laser-focused on quality and no topic is too complex for you to adapt to reach and inspire your audiences. You want your audiences to interact with your content and feel that building communities is the best part of the social media process.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supports the planning of social media content;
- Coordinates, develops impactful content, including capturing visuals;
- Scheduling and publishing posts, ensuring consistency with the brand’s voice and style;
- Monitors posts, highlights risks and opportunities for engagement;
- Collaborates, connects and works with colleagues to ensure that content is compelling, informative,
engaging and, most of all, accurate; - Works with designers and content creators to produce high-quality content;
- Supports the development and maintenance of a compelling editorial calendar for social media;
- Understands and keeps up with best practices for each social media platform;
- Continuously learns and adapts to new platforms and technologies;
- Represents the Foundation at events when required to execute social media coverage, engaging with
audiences to maximize event visibility and participation.
Qualifications
- University or college diploma in marketing, multimedia, communications or equivalent work experience.
- Experience and proven success in social media content delivery and strong written communication skills,
preferably in both official languages. - Understanding of social media metrics and reporting.
- Understanding and adherence to values of equity, diversity, inclusivity, and indigeneity.
- Creative thinking and ability to generate engaging content.
- Ability to work independently and deliver on competing priorities.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
