CHEO Foundation and Walmart Canada to announce CHEO’s 2025 Champion

Media Advisory

Ottawa, ON – Friday morning, CHEO patient Eluin Oudhoff will be announced as the 2025 CHEO Champion and will spend the next year representing all CHEO patients through the Children’s Miracle Networks Champion’s Program sponsored by Walmart Canada. Eluin will represent CHEO at various events and will travel to Orlando, Florida to be part of Children’s Hospitals Week from April 7 to 10.

Eluin has always struggled with anxiety. But that escalated dangerously when the stress of moving to Canada, bullying at school and the death of a beloved pet was too much to handle. This led to a mental health crisis. The Children’s Miracle Network Champion program celebrates children who demonstrate bravery while overcoming medical challenges, highlighting the vital role of pediatric hospitals. It also emphasizes how the support of donors helps provide life-changing care to children and families in their time of need.

To show appreciation for their role in representing CHEO kids, Eluin will be gifted a $500 shopping spree, generously provided by Walmart Canada at the Barrhaven location in Ottawa.
