Bring your favourite teddy bear and enjoy all the free activities. From interactive games to live entertainment, it’s a day dedicated to celebrating the heart of our community.

Bear Hospital
Children bring their cherished stuffed animals so our volunteers can heal injuries and provide care.

Add fun and fantasy to your day with creative and vibrant face painting designs!

Held on the athletic turf field, TAAG Park at Carleton University, this family-friendly extravaganza is packed with fun activities for kids of all ages.

Parking at Carleton University
Parking is available on-site, at Carleton University, in lots P3 and P7. There is a daily parking fee of $6.

We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals to help with various aspects of this fun day and great cause. From serving breakfast to running activities, you’ll bring joy to children, youth and families in our community.

CHEO’s Teddy Bears’ Picnic is a rain or shine event, but we want everyone who attends to be safe and have an enjoyable experience. We monitor weather closely in the lead up to the event and will post updates and recommendations here on this website and via social media by 2 p.m. the day before if the forecast is calling for rainfall of 31 mm or more, wind of 60 km/h with gusts of 90 km/h, a thunderstorm with lightening in the area, an air quality index warning of 8 or more, or temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius with a humidex over 40 degrees Celsius. In the event of extreme weather or dangerous conditions in the forecast, an event cancellation notice will be posted here on this website, on social media channels, and via email to registered attendees.
It’s our way of thanking the community for their ongoing support. It’s a day filled with fun activities, designed to celebrate the contributions that help us provide care and services at CHEO, the CHEO Research Institute, CHEO School, and Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice.
Simply bring your family and your favourite teddy bear! There’s no cost to attend, and most of the activities are free. It’s a day of fun, celebration, and community spirit.
While the CHEO’s Teddy Bears’ Picnic, presented by Giant Tiger, is not a fundraising event, your continued support throughout the year ensures that children, youth, and families receive the care they need at CHEO.
