About the Role

The Officer, Corporate Development plays a key role in growing and strengthening CHEO Foundation’s corporate partnerships program. This is a relationship and growth-driven role focused on stewarding existing partners and developing new business opportunities that support kids, youth and families served by CHEO.

Managing a portfolio of corporate partners and prospects, the Officer will build meaningful relationships with organizations across the community and beyond, identifying opportunities for sponsorship, employee engagement, philanthropic support, and long-term partnership growth. The role combines relationship management, business development, and community engagement, with a strong focus on creating exceptional partner experiences and achieving fundraising results.

background is in fundraising, sponsorship, sales, account management, or business development, you understand how to build trust, identify opportunities, and move relationships forward.

You enjoy working collaboratively, are motivated by achieving results, and want your work to have a meaningful impact in the community. You are equally comfortable representing an organization externally, contributing ideas internally, and working in a fast-paced team environment where relationship building and growth matter.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage the stewardship and solicitation of a portfolio of annual corporate donors through the full donor life cycle
  • Identify and pursue new corporate partnership opportunities, including sponsorships, employee engagement initiatives, proceeds of sales, and philanthropic support
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners to support long-term engagement and revenue growth
  • Lead the sales cycle for corporate partnerships, including discovery, proposal development, negotiation, and closing, with a focus on maximizing both philanthropic and partner value
  • Develop customized partnership opportunities aligned with partner interests and CHEO Foundation priorities
  • Prepare proposals, partnership materials, and funding requests in support of corporate engagement opportunities
  • Represent the Foundation at events and within the community
  • Track, analyze, and report on pipeline performance using CRM tools to manage activity, forecast revenue, and support planning
  • Stay informed on corporate giving trends, sponsorship best practices, and healthcare philanthropy to bring forward new ideas and opportunities
  • Support cross-functional collaboration and may provide guidance to volunteers, interns, or temporary staff supporting partnership activities and events

Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma; or equivalent experience
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is essential
  • Experience in fundraising, sponsorship, partnerships, sales, account management, or business development preferred
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence a variety of audiences
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment
  • Fundraising database experience is essential; familiarity with Raiser’s Edge is an asset
  • Attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction/supervision
  • Flexibility to work some evenings/weekends, as required
  • Access to an automobile is required
