Volunteers play a critical role in helping the CHEO Foundation support the important work being done at CHEO. In addition to having a great time in your volunteer role, you will also meet new people, discover skills you never knew you had, all while helping support CHEO’s doctors, nurses and staff as they work to let every CHEO patient live their best life.

Volunteers help out in so many ways. From general office support and helping out at CHEO Foundation special events, to donning the CHEO Bear mascot costume to the delight of kids and families.

Of note, all new volunteers are asked to submit a Police Records Check. For more information visit the Ottawa Police Services website.

CN Cycle Volunteers

May 3, 2020

The CN Cycle for CHEO is a fun, non-competitive event that offers a wide range of cycling (15K, 35K, 70K) and walking (2K, 5K) routes for people of all ages and abilities while raising funds for kids with cancer. Our fully-supported urban cycling routes will be closed to traffic and will offer a unique opportunity for individuals, groups and families to safely cycle along Ottawa’s most scenic corridors.

Teddy Bears’ Picnic Volunteer

The Teddy Bears’ Picnic has become a family tradition unlike any other as kids, parents, and grandparents alike all head to the Governor General’s residence at Rideau Hall for a day of family activities. Volunteers are needed to help us thank the community for their unwavering support.

RBC Race for the Kids Volunteer

2020 Date TBD

The RBC Race for the Kids is a 2K, 5K and 10K all terrain walk/run event in support of youth mental health programs at CHEO. All of the closed courses make their way through beautiful Wesley Clover Parks – an innovative, four-season outdoor recreation and learning hub located in the National Capital Greenbelt that encircles the City of Ottawa.

Various volunteer roles are available.
