The National Capital Heavy Construction Association (NCHCA) and the Ottawa Construction Association (OCA) have partnered once again for the second annual construction equipment parade, Construction Community Cares, on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. We look forward to bringing smiles to the faces of children and their families at CHEO and Roger Neilson House.

We are calling on our members to support this event by featuring their equipment in the parade and making a donation in support of palliative care at CHEO and Roger Neilson House.

A staging area and parade route have been planned to make it easy for equipment to drive through the grounds and for families to watch from the windows of the hospital, Rotel, Ronald McDonald House and Roger Neilson House, and from the sidewalks along Ring Road.

To make a donation and help us to meet our goal of $150,000 we encourage you, your colleagues and your company to donate any amount and join with us to show that the Construction Community Cares!

Click here to register your equipment and be in the parade. (Although a donation is not required to participate in the parade, it is a great way for your company to show your support in a deeply meaningful and extremely impactful way.)

Learn more about Roger Neilson House, Ways to Give and how your donations to the 2021 event have helped palliative care at CHEO and Roger Neilson House throughout the past year. We thank you for your generosity!

Many NCHCA and OCA members will know the history of building Roger Neilson House as there was a tremendous charitable commitment of labour, materials and money from around a hundred local construction firms. The effort was led by Roly Hein, CEO of RE Hein Construction who charmed and cajoled firms to help out to the tune of $2 million dollars. Roly unfortunately passed away too young, at age 67, in 2013.
